If your vehicle is registered in your name and you have not yet claimed, you are eligible to claim the government rebate.
The rebate is easy and fast to claim. All you need to do is take the filled out form from your installer to medicare for lodgment. You will usually receive your cheque within a week.
Until the 1st of July 2010 , the government pays $1750 towards halving your fuel bill, there really is no better time to install. (rebate drops to $1500 afterwards)

Unfortunately, this is an area that is very often overlooked when choosing an LPG system for your vehicle.
There are currently 4 main types of LPG equipments available to consumers.
1/ the "venturi" type
2/ the "air valve" type
3/ the "vapour injection" type
4/ the "liquid injection" type
These 4 types of systes have differences in price , performance and fuel consumption figures between them.
Venturi and air valve systems have been around since the inception of LPG conversions , and are generally mostly found on older type vehicles. Without a doubt , the main drawback with these 2 types of systems is the obstruction to the air flow of the vehicle's engine.
By placing an LPG component over the air intake ( or throttle body ) , a certain amount of airflow is taken away from the engine and thus there is a loss of power and volumetric efficiency.
It was a well known fact that people would trade off performance for economy when swiching to LPG - not any more.
Vapour and liquid systems do not have this obstruction , and can as such make the most use of the advanced intake manifold designs , this is just 1 of the reasons that these type of LPG conversions generally equal or better the power of the vehicle whilst running on petrol , but also have superior economy compared to the earlier systems.
Driving a vehicle on vapour or liquid LPG injction it is almost impossible to detect which fuel is used , usually, the general feel is that the car drives "smoother".
Due to better fuel delivery , Vapour and Liquid LPG injection systems offer better combustion properties , and as such are able to meet the most stringent emissions testing.
And best of all , no more backfires!
New vehicles with factory-fitted LPG systems are covered by the vehicle's normal manufacturer warranty. New vehicles fitted with a manufacturer approved system by one of its dealerships are also covered.
Existing vehicle warranties are not made void by the installation of an LPG system, however the vehicle manufacturer will not warrant the LPG system (unless fitted or endorsed by them) or anything that is effected by the having the system fitted. Apollo Gas offers a 3 year 100,000km Engine warranty for our Omegas certified kits.
You should check the warranty with your installer before purchase. Extended warranty period options are available through some installers.
The conversion and installation of an LPG system is covered by a warranty from the supplier and/or installer and are usually for 3 years or 100,000 kilometers. Some warranties differ so you should check the warranty with your installer before purchase. Extended warranty period options are available through some installers.
Apollo Gas covers all Apollo approved parts for 3 years/100,000 Km.
Apollo products supplied under OEM programs are covered for the new car warranty period. All diagnosis and/or repairs can only be carried out by Apollo Gas authorized workshops.
Apollo Gas will pay for the repair of engines with problems deemed to be caused by an approved Apollo Gas system. Apollo Gas will pay to an approved and authorised repairer the expenses incurred, to repair the engine to a condition that is consistent with a vehicle warranty claim.
This Engine Warranty covers the vehicle at the time the manufacturer’s warranty is in place. Cover as in time/kilometres is the same as the manufacturer’s warranty limited to 3 years 100,000kms. Vehicles that are not new are covered for the balance of the OEM warranty.
Installation must have been carried out by an Apollo Approved Installer. The gas system must have been serviced at the intervals specified in the Apollo Gas Owner’s Handbook. These services must be recorded in the Apollo Gas Owner’s Handbook.
The latest LPG injection technologies, available in both factory and retrofit installations, ensure that LPG provides performance and fuel economy comparable with contemporary petrol powered engines.
Torque is available at lower engine revs, which aids driveability and power output of engines with EFI, when run on LPG is usually only slightly lower than on petrol a difference most drivers would be unlikely to detect.
LPG is also a cleaner burning fuel than petrol and therefore no fuel carbon deposits are formed which means less engine wear and a longer engine life. From a maintenance point of view, the advantages of LPG over petrol include;
